Making Story: Custom Ring for a Birthday Milestone

This showstopping ring was designed to celebrate a milestone birthday with a special heirloom gift. We worked with our client to design a rings for a 21st birthday that displays gemstones passed down from older generations to their daughter on her special birthday.

It was a privilege to work on such a special piece and be trusted with priceless family gems to create a final ring that is simply stunning. All the finishes of this ring were also handmade for an extra special touch.

Design Conception

Working with the client, a design was conceptualised and features a combination of family gemstones and other gems we sourced to give the piece extra sparkle and specialty.

 

Bringing the Design to Life

Setting

From the concept sketches, Chris began working on the ring. The settings for the main stones were handmade and prepared.

    

Band

The large setting needed a sturdy band to support it. This band was later embellished with details to compliment the dazzling top of the ring.

     

Details

Final handmade details like the handmade flourishes, extra diamond bling, and milgrain detailing was added to tie the design together and reflect the concept sketches
