Remodelling is a wonderful way to reuse, repurpose and revamp jewellery. Here's everything you should know about remodelling jewellery...
Why remodel a piece of jewellery?
Remodelling jewellery is a beautiful way to give new life to old jewellery. If you have pieces that have lost their original sparkle or just look a bit dated, remodelling is a fantastic way to revamp the original piece with a new twist.
It is perfect for everyday jewellery that you don't reach for anymore but also for making special custom made jewellery to celebrate milestones. Opting to remodel an old ring to gift as a special 21st present, remodel your engagement ring for your 30th wedding anniversary or remodel an old pendant to gift as a sentimental wedding gift, are all beautiful ways to continue the legacy of a jewellery piece in a new chapter.
When you remodel, you're not only creating a beautiful fresh jewellery piece, but a sentimental treasure that uses gems or metals from the original. You can also combine multiple jewellery pieces into one new extra special piece - the possibilities are endless!

Remodelling is perfect for:
-
Saving money: The price of gold is high at the moment, so by choosing to reuse gold you already have, you can save money on your final jewellery design.
-
Maintaining sentimental value: Reuse the same gemstones and metal in a fresh design - turning the original design into something new, but just as special.
-
Sustainability: Rather than throwing away old jewellery, reuse it! Reusing your metal and gemstones saves resources and environmental damage caused by sourcing new materials.

What's involved in remodelling?
One of the biggest parts of remodelling your jewellery is us taking the time to understanding the history of the original piece. Jewellery holds memory and value beyond just the metal and stones and we want to preserve that. Understanding this is also important because it let's us know what you love about the original piece so we can create a new piece that captures all the aspects you love in combination with a fresh design.
Practically, remodelling simply involves taking the metal or gemstones from the original piece and melting down the metal and taking the original gemstones to be used in the new jewellery piece.
